Position Summary

The Construction Coordinator is responsible for procurement throughout the construction process. Responsibilities include recruiting contractors, generating bid packages, scheduling contractor walkthroughs, responding to Requests for Information, reviewing bids, awarding contracts, contract development and execution, compliance review, tracking and reporting construction progress, oversight of budget including change orders, payments and third-party invoicing, project close-out, and required reporting. 

Essential Functions of Position:

  • Generate and track bid packages, subcontracts and change orders, and process invoices.

  • Coordinate with structural engineers, architects, and others whose services are required.

  • Generate and maintain construction schedule to ensure annual objectives are met.

  • Consistently communicate with teammates, primarily Habitat inspectors.

  • Build relationships to establish and maintain pool of qualified, licensed contractors and vendors.

  • Conduct outreach and engagement strategies to market construction bid opportunities to small and local contractors and minority and women owned businesses.

  • Provide construction management services for Homeowners including facilitating construction bidding, ensuring contractors obtain all required building permits, and monitoring construction contractors for compliance with local and state building codes.

  • Maintain current, complete, and accurate records by log all activities in Salesforce database and memorializing all communication in writing.

  • Ensure executed contracts are in place prior to issuing notices to proceed.

  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure timely scheduling and completion of projects.

  • Coordinate final inspection and notice of completion sign-off with Habitat Inspectors.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements:

Primary work will either be performed primarily from home or at Habitat’s Oakland office. 

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation is based on experience. We offer health, vision, and dental insurance to full-time employees and cover 90% of employee premiums, and 50% for spouse, and dependents. We provide a 4% annual salary match to your 403(b)-retirement plan after one year of service, with a three-year cliff vesting. We also offer generous paid time off including vacation, sick leave, and 13 paid holidays. 

Salary: $31.25 to $33.65 depending on experience
